Latest company blog about How to Configure a Modular Sofa into an L-Shape / U-Shape Using Couchery Units

Have you ever stared at a pile of modular sofa units in your living room, wondering how in the world they’re supposed to fit together into something that looks sleek, functions beautifully, and fits your space? Yeah, I’ve been there. The good news is, with a little bit of planning—and the right tools like Vacuum Packed Sofa —you can transform your chaotic collection into the perfect L-shape or U-shape sectional without breaking a sweat.

Getting Started: What You'll Need Before the Build
Before you start clicking pieces in place, think spatial. Here’s what I always check:
Room Measurements: Measure the length and width of your space. Use painter’s tape to mark out boundaries.
Layout Goal: Decide upfront whether it’s going to be an L-shape or U-shape.
Required Units: Count your Couchery modules—do you have enough for your chosen configuration?
Suggested Unit Count
L-Shape: At least 3 pieces (1 corner unit + 2 end/armless units)
U-Shape: 5–7 pieces (2 corner units, multiple armless units, optional ottoman or chaise)
If you're going with the L-shape configuration, make sure you have at least an 84" x 84" space. For the U-shape, target a minimum footprint of 120" x 84".
